VICTORIA SYMPHONY SPLASH
This is a really special event! On August 5th, if you walk by the Victoria waterfront you’ll be treated to a special treat – the Victoria Symphony Orchestra on a floating platform in the middle of the water, performing a medley of classic pieces! And that’s not all; the finale is none other than Tchaikovksy’s 1812 Overture, complete with a fireworks show! This event is a blast every year and we can’t recommend it enough – it truly is an unforgettable experience.
DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
Dragon Boating is one of the most exciting watersports around! A celebration of physical power and team spirit, watching dragon boats blast through the water in race conditions is always incredibly exciting.
On August 10-12, The 24th Annual Victoria Dragon Boat Festival (sponsored by Canada Dry) returns to Victoria Harbour! The ONLY Dragon Boat Festival in Canada that takes place in an active harbour, this is one of the waterfront’s premier annual events!
Of course, it’s isn’t all racing – in addition to the boating, there will be beer gardens, live music, a food court and plenty of surprises! This is a blast every year and a ton of fun whether you’re a paddler or just excited to see the best of the best compete!
