There’s a real mixed bag of events taking place in Victoria this April, which will demonstrate just how varied life in this beautiful corner of British Columbia can be. We’ve got a little bit of everything, from Scottish culture celebrations to long comedy sessions (26 hours!), and a festival that aims to raise awareness about sustainable practices. Sounds good? Then book your room at Days Inn Victoria on the Harbour and make sure you get down there. After you’ve finished having fun, you’ll be able to unwind in your spacious room, which includes free Wi-Fi, a free robe for relaxing in, and a whole host of other amenities.
Oh flower of Scotland
Get ready to dress up in tartan, because Victoria’s 7th annual ‘Tartan Day’ will be taking place on April 8. Head down to Centennial Square on that day and you’ll find plenty of tartan related fun taking place. There’ll be a pipe band performance, highland dancing, and exhibitions from various Scottish related groups from across BC. Whether you have Scottish roots or not, this will be one fun filled afternoon.
26 hours of laughter
After you’ve finished having your tartan related fun, take a trip over to Intrepid Theatre, where there’ll be a comedy improvisation performance taking place…for 26 hours! It’s all in aid of the Paper Street’s Improv Festival, so you’ll have to donate to get in, but for 26 hours of comedy…it’s probably going to be a good deal! Takes place from 8pm on April 8 to 10pm on April 9.
Earth and sustainability
Celebrate Earth Day at Royal BC Museum on April 22, where there’ll be shows, talks, live music, food, and much more all taking place. You’ll be able to learn all about the earth, and how you can work to protect it for future generations.
